iPhone and iPad App Development

// Native iPhone and iPad Apps have a number of advantages over mobile websites

Often called 'Native Applications' to separate them from mobile websites, Apps are developed using a different programming language from websites. Developing an App for iPhone and iPad is more expensive and more specific than developing a mobile optimised website.

Some of the reasons you might choose to develop a native app rather than a mobile site:

  • Functionality: Apps can use aspects of the iPhone operating system which work more smoothly than a web page - keyboard, maps, and more.
  • Speed: Data can be downloaded with the app and stored on the phone
  • Network Freedom: Apps can be used without network connectivity, so can be used on planes or in low network areas, and save on data costs
  • Revenue: Apps can easily be sold, earning revenue

Phosphor are currently developing 2 iPhone Apps.

Mobile Web Design

As the number of people browsing the web with mobile devices increases, websites are expected to just 'work'. Is your website falling short of providing a usable experience?
