New Game for Developers - 'Elevation of Privilege'

A new card game by Microsoft helps developers to create secure software and web applications.

Elevation of Privilege or EoP, was developed as part of ongoing work in developing more secure software.

Players draw a diagram of the system they want to threat model before dealing the cards. To play a card, the player has to read the card and announce a related threat to the system. The player who can play the highest card or a trump takes the trick.

Developers who can take charge of more basic levels of threat modelling allow security experts to use their expertise more effectively in developing custom solutions to unusual aspects of an application.
