Fullers Ferries is the main transport system from Auckland to the surrounding offshore islands and the only water transport to the north shore suburbs and the Coromandel peninsula. Now owned by Inmotion Group, the New Zealand operations of UK's Souter Investment Portfolio, Fullers have provided Auckland with ferry services since 1981.

There are two distinct groups people who use the ferries - large numbers of tourists and locals who take day tours or use the ferries for holiday transport to the islands, and the 2000 or so commuters who use the ferries every day to get to school or work.

We worked closely with Fullers in-house design team to turn their concepts into a fast loading, standards friendly, responsive design. One of our main concerns was to make the most important information as easy as possible to view on a mobile - timetables, travel alerts, what to bring, where to go, and of course ticket and tour purchase..

Editing Interface and Ticketing Integrations

The Galaxy ticketing system is integrated into the website for quick ticket purchase, update of user passes and account information.

The My ferry mobile app is also updated by Umbraco.

The editing interface for the ferry timetables is as easy and quick to update as we can make it. Different types of timetable - those which are capacity managed, those which run daily schedules, and those with specific and varying services are all managed from the CMS.

Phosphor listened to our needs as a Tourist Operator and Public Transport provider to deliver a reskin and Umbraco upgrade that showcased our destinations and tour products and provided the marketing team with the ability to update content with great autonomy. Our in-house digital team now have far superior control over content across all pages with the flexibility to use different templates and features to engage customers, keep content relevant and help SEO.

Utilising Umbraco as a backend for our Hybrid Mobile App simplified the approach to our digital platforms and significantly reduced costs while speeding up our ability to deploy updates and feature changes.

The team at Phosphor worked with our designs and ideas and brought them to life with a very easy to manage CMS. And they hardly told us no!
